Hi,
I've just fitted a new battery (lithium 3V, 2325 size) to my 2MB SRAM Melcard (PCMCIA card), which is working fine. Recognised by XP laptop, can format (FAT) and save and read files.

On the back of the card is a space to write a 'Battery Expiration' date, but I have no idea how long a new battery should last. I can't find a manual (Bitsavers just has a massive slide pack on RAM / ROM products).

Has anyone got a manual please or any experience on battery life?

Thanks,
John

Found the datasheets for a range of MELCARDs including my one:

http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/1691/MITSUBISHI/MF3257-J8CATXX.html

Some use 2025 battery and some (like mine) 2325 battery. Standby battery life varies between 1 and 6 years depending on model, so I might as well leave the battery out as I really don't need to keep the data on the card for more than a few days (eg to transfer files to / from a PC).

Regards,
John
