Mouse Systems PC Mouse Software and Manuals

I recently acquired a seemingly complete in box example of a Mouse Systems PC Mouse. I was wondering if any of the floppies were not currently imaged anywhere, and if the manuals might need to be scanned.

If it has not yet been preserved, I can image the floppies and scan the manuals. If I need to scan either of the manuals, I do not believe I can provide the highest quality scans, as I only have a Brother MFC-L8900CDW to scan with.

The attached image shows the extras that came with the mouse, I also have the original box it came in.

AFAIK PC Paint 1.00B is not archived, only 1.00A. I also can't find Pop-Up Menus 4.00 anywhere, only 5.01. So it would be good to image those.

A PC Paint manual is on archive.org, but it's for version 2.x (Plus). It's also classified as a book with restricted access. So any scans are better than no scans.

When I get the time I'll go ahead and image the floppies, most likely a good practice for me to do either way!

I'll try and get some scans of both manuals too when I get the time.

I've been busy the past few days, and got sick, but I finished the scanning!

I scanned the front of both floppy disks, the PC Paint manual, the mouse user guide, along with some random items like the mouse box, the box that held the manuals, and even the warranty registration card. My printer only does 300DPI, but I did not see any detail that was lost.

However, when writing the image I took from the PC Paint floppy to a new disk, the program fails to boot as it states that it cannot find the key disk. Does anyone know how to properly image the disk?

The other image I took works fine without needing a key.

Where would it be recommended to upload the disk images and the scans to?

WinWorldPC has PC Paint 1.00A in ImageDisk format so I would try that. Might have some form of copy protection going on.

Where would it be recommended to upload the disk images and the scans to?

I tried to image the disk using .IMD instead of .IMG on my Greaseweazle, but it still requires the key disk.

I unfortunately do not have any device that can run ImageDisk that also have a 5.25" drive. The only devices I have with a 5.25" floppy drive are my main Windows 11 computer through a Greaseweazle, and my Panasonic RL-H7000. The Panasonic has no way of transferring files, other than through writing floppy disks from disk images.

I tried to image the disk using .IMD instead of .IMG on my Greaseweazle, but it still requires the key disk.

If you have a Greaseweazle, at the very least you should be able to copy the disk via raw flux image (SCP).

Finally got everything uploaded to the archive!

Managed to get PC Paint to work, took a .SCP scan of it, which I don't believe was necessary as what finally got it to work was not using the IBM 360 disk format as I usually did.
