here is my perdiciment. I had a late model 386 board that was pretty nice, only issue with it was the 30 pin simm holders were obviously a little delicate. anyways lately at a thirft I came a cross a nice 386 era case, the one with a big power switch and it was a much smaller case so it could actually fit nicely under my computer desk. unfortunately on bringing it home I discovered it had a nice motherboard but it was damaged from battery leakage."no problem i thought, i'll just transfer motherboards" unfortunately in the transfer the simm slots was damaged and several simm sockets no longer hold the RAM properly. board no longer POSTS and I get the 3 beep error. I tried everything including rubber bands but I can not seat the RAM correctly.
looking on Ebay I can find no comparable motherboards so to my original question.
is anyone willing to either
A) desolder the old simm slots and solder on new ones
B) attempt to fix the traces from the battery leak on the other board (it doesnt look to bad, just one thick trace from the power supply connector is bad)
C) both
any help would be appreciated.
