New addition to my trainer board collection

I found an MCS-80 board in a surplus store yesterday. It looks like someone started assembling the kit,but stopped before completing it. Several of the ICs that are required for a working unit were never installed, as they are missing, and there is no solder traces on the pads. They probably stopped when they realized that one of the 25 pin connectors was placed in the wrong spot.

I'm pretty sure I can get it running, _IF_ I can find the chips for it. The 8224 clock generator and 8228 system controller shouldn't be that hard, although I refuse to pay the stupid prices being asked on Ebay. The hard chips to find will be the two 8111 RAM chips and the 8708 prom with the monitor program.

Yes, that's the board. Mine isn't as complete.

I'm not impressed by them either. I'm debating replacing them, but that has a risk of damage to the board...

If memory serves me correctly, you can remove the plastic part of the socket - and you should be able to desolder the individual pins one at a time.
