hello,

I just got a Commodore 128D which I would like to connect to my Commodore 1084S monitor for 80 column. Can anyone suggest a place to purchase a cable? I found a site in Germany that is selling them but I'd like to purchase it state side if possible.

Thanks

Is it DE9 in both ends? I would think a straight connected DE9 cable with the proper male/female connectors would do the trick but I haven't tried that myself.

One of my 1084s is DB9 Female, the other is DB9 M. There is also a DIN version.

For the DB9 models, you need a db9 male for the computer and then get the correct one for your monitor. Straight thru cable, ie. 1-1 2-2 3-3, etc.

Make sure you get shielded.

Later,
dabone

My 128D is DB9 Female and my 1084 is DB9 Male. It's straight through? I might have one. Should I expect the output to be color or monocrome on a 1084?

Excellent. I went and bought a db9 female to male cable at lunch. I will try it out when I get home from work tonight. Thanks for you help everyone.

I just wanted to get back to you guys and let you know that straight through DB9 Male to DB9 Female I picked up works and looks great.

Thanks again
