OK, another stooped question. :-)

Will Word for Windows 1 use a numeric co-pro?

Lemme explain this:

I currently run Word for Windows 1.0/1.1 (depending on how I feel!) on my 386sx16 under Windows 3.0. I don’t use Windows 3.1 'cause it's boring! Windows 3.1 went all corporate and it feels like it. 3.0 feels like a bunch of programmer trying out new ideas with no artistic credentials. It's more fun.

Anyway, I use it for writing a lot. These days, alas, I am pressured in to having to insert more and more pictures. I can't get a faster 386. I have got a Pentium running the same S/W but I prefer the 386 for creative endeavours. It's a bit of 'which way do I jump?' at the moment. I like my 386. It's a small, reliable, co-operative machine. But it can't handle pictures too well.

Ok, I am 99% certain I know the answer to this question. I know Excel always used an NPU. I know Windows didn't. I doubt very much Word does. But it would help me if Word did happen to use an NPU for handling pictures. It's the only thing that's hampering me these days.

Anyone know? It's a wild question.

Thanks.
