Hello,

i have just bought an PC on a fleamarket but it doesn't work, the power supply doesn't power up.
If i disconnect the mainboard the power supply works just fine.
I see an blown capacitor on the motherboard (see image below) , can it be the cause of my problem? And which capacitor is a good replacement for this?

Thanks in advance.

PS. Sorry for my english ;)

That capacitor wont be the problem because it's already blown itself up.

But one of it's buddies most likely has shorted internally. Use a multimeter to check the resistance between the two pins on each of the yellow caps (especially near the power supply connector, and near the expansion slots). One or more will likely show 0 ohms, or near to it. Once you've identified the potentially bad capacitors, you can choose a course of action.

If you find multiple parts showing 0 ohms, quite often this is simply because they're connected in parallel, so if you remove one make sure to retest before removing anything else.
