Those Laser computers were always overpriced. When I was a kid I remember seeing them in some sort of mail order catalog, maybe fingerhut or something like that. They were over $1000. An XT was already ancient tech by that time and the Apple II even more so.

By that time, most software required either dual 360k floppy drives, or a hard drive. Managing a Kaypro 2000 with only a single 720k drive was enough of a headache.

Those Laser Compact XT computers have absolutely no expansion, so no XTIDE possible. Perhaps a parallel port zip drive at most. Unlike Apple II style machines, the Compact XT would have been much more useful with a 3.5" drive.

But really, two beaten up discolored units with missing pieces, and one stated not working. I would have expected around $250 at most. Sigh... ePay.

8088 Compaq Portable 1 (dual FDD): https://www.ebay.com/itm/294043909561

8088 Compaq Portable Plus (single FDD, 10MB HDD): https://www.ebay.com/itm/294044008506

Both of them have common issues with the keyboard: foam and foil capacitive pads disintegrated and the floppy drives will need oiling and greasing eventually since the spindle motors do have bearing issues after many years (speaking of experience with my Portable 1) and not bad stating bid prices either.

PS/2 Model 30-286
Desktop, monitor, ps2 mouse and keyboard. All original, all with ibm boxes.

Currently a steal at 61 + 150 freight.

There is no chance it will sell for only $61. For a complete setup with boxes and in working condition, I'm guessing $300 or more. With 6 hours left, it's already at $177.

Listings that have been on ebay forever are usually still there because the asking price is too high, or the cost to ship is too high.

I wonder sometimes if the larger sellers on eBay deliberately put things up to help jack up the price of similar items. There are just ridiculous prices and I don't think it can be fully explained by sellers just having conflicting feeling, or just holding out for the best price. There are large sellers relisting items that are much, much more expensive than other comparable items.
