Might anyone here happen to have a copy of DG-UX 5.4, or an older version of Data General UNIX?

Over the weekend, I managed to acquire a Circa-1990 Data General Aviion 300 series workstation machine. This is a low-end (one step up from the bottom of the product line-up) Motorola 88000-based workstation. This particular model uses the 16-MHz Motorola 88100.

Other than DG/UX, the machine appears to only be capable of running OpenBSD version 5.7.

The workstation itself has AUI Ethernet (only), a DD50 pin external SCSI connector, 3-BNC RGB (sync on green), AT-style keyboard connector, and a Mouse Systems compatible MiniDIN-8 mouse port. In addition, it has two DB25 serial ports, one which is RS-232 only, and the second of which is also RS-422 capable.

The model 300 appears to only support a maximum of 16MB of RAM, and it uses really funky 72-pin SIMMs.

Funny you should post this so recently; I just acquired four of these, two that look just like the ones in your original post (that I acquired yesterday). I plan on keeping at least one of the bunch; never played around with an mk88000 system before.

Do yours power up? Unfortunately, the only 3W3 cables I have output to BNC, and I don't have a BNC to VGA cable handy here. Do they display output on the console like most other UNIX boxes?

I just received av300 with monochrome option. It has 4 x 16 mb of ram and scm recognize all 64.

However i got the following L test error:
Error 10000600
9 SCSI
1 controller chip

And after some data ir reports:
scsi_term_pwr

*** halt on error ***

Does yours pass all tests even without scsi device attached? I have only sun branded dd-50 cable, may be it uses different?
