If you'd prefer, I can post the Diskettte Adapter/A pinout and you can compare it with the 5150 pinout shown above.
What is the Diskettte Adapter/A ?

Bump-Bumpity-Bump-Bump-Bump
well ya true, but some times a good old fashioned, friendly thread bump doesn't hurt either.
I'm curious about how to convert the 4869 to work with the PC and the XT and would like a tutorial if at all possible
The 4869 is MADE for these machines, if I'm not mistaken. All you need is the appropriate ISA card.I'm curious about how to convert the 4869 to work with the PC and the XT and would like a tutorial if at all possible

The 4869 seems to be made for a PS/2...
In forums, if a thread has died for a while and no one has responded to it, or if it has fallen below the first page when you open the forum section, one used to go *Bump*. A simple message with the word Bump in it.
...My 4869 is the -002 model...
That sounds odd, and needs corroboration. When I get back home from holiday, I will try my 1809113 labelled controller (presently in my early IBM 5150) in my IBM 5160.I have 2ea of early version of IBM 5.25" Diskette Drive Adapter (P/N : 1809113 XM) in 1981.
This supports 5.25" 360KB (fully), 3.5" 70KB (partially, needed driver for full working.)
But this is for IBM PC 5150 only, Not for IBM PC XT 5160 / AT 5170.
Because this doesn't work on IBM PC XT 5160 / AT 5170.
To work on IBM PC XT 5160, IBM 5.25" Diskette Drive Adapter (P/N : 1501484) from 1982-3 should be needed.
