Another PDP-11 Alert! This time it’s a PDP-11/04, I have no connection to the seller and no idea as to its state:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Digital-PDP...tage_Computers_Mainframes&hash=item2343163e90

The deal with these systems is the weight! Shipping may cost may cost a small fortune so the real benefit is to anyone who is local or within driving distance of this system. Also have to wonder it having only one board (M7263) KD-11 knowing that the 11/34 uses two cards to make up the processor? May be an opportunity to get into Unibus at a reasonable price?

The photos show one double-wide card, two quad-wide cards, and one 6-wide card. Do all these cards actually go with this system?

Yup. Per the description:

H-228B memory ( 32K x 18)
M7859 KY-11 Console Interface
M9301 YA
M7263 KD-11 processor

and one mystery board ... not a DEC board, but an SMS FD 11001. It is a Scientific Micro Systems Disk Controller board, "model number FD 1100I" "Serial number K11228" Chip dates are early-1980.

The core memory and processor are HEX cards. The KY-11 (sic) is a quad, the M9301 boot/terminator is a dual.

The KY-11 M7859 listed by the seller is (from the pictures) in reality an M7856 DL11-W instead (console serial interface).

Even tho the front panel is the 11/04 programmers console there is no console interface board (M7859 quad) included.
Unfortunate as these are hard to find.

The system could be upgraded to an 11/34 just by swapping out the 11/04 CPU card for an 11/34 two board set.
