I picked up a Poqet Plus a while back and just recently got around to giving it some attention. The condition was of course multiple cracks in the casing. The one battery terminal had broken loose, but the parts were all there. The wires from the battery and supercap had come off the board.
I carefully glued the case back together and that went well. I managed to figure out where the wires for the battery and supercap goes. I inspected the LCD ribbon which is one of the most common things to break. It looked ok.
So, I applied 3V to the battery terminals and tried to turn it on. Online info says that after battery replacement, you need to first hit the reset button. When I hit the reset button, the LCD blinks. Just a single line on the LCD and then it goes away. No beep. I get no response at all from pressing the I/O (power) button. Pressing reset does the single LCD line flash every time.
I don't currently have a reason to believe it is the LCD cable, but I know I need to consider that. However, I would have expected the computer to come up and run even without the LCD. I get a bit of current draw when I press the reset button, but back to basically nothing after the line goes away causing me to think that it tries to start up and then turns off.
Any chance anybody here has worked on one of these and have some advice where to begin?
