I installed SuSE Linux 10 on my VCR PC yesterday. I found that a screen res of 800x600 is way to low for me and so i opened up SaX2 and told it to change to 1280x1024. When it got to the test mode screen, i saw something was wrong: the resolution was not 1280x1024, but 1280x600. I click cancel and try out 1024x768. A little better, but the actual resolution is 1024x600. Frustrated, I use gft to get a modeline for 1280x1024 and put the modeline in xorg.conf and init 6 (reboot). when X comes back up, i open up SaX2 again and swap to 1280x1024. No effect, it still is 1280x600. ideas? i'm not using a widescreen monitor. also there is an intel 800 something-or-other in this coputer as the video card and in xorg.conf it has loaded the driver i810.
