I received this PS/2 but it was giving troubles from the start. Everything starts up fine but it refuses to read floppies. The drive turns but that's all. Swapped the drives with good ones to no effect.

Next I installed an XTIDE drive with a CF card. The original ESDI (?) drives works fine but without floppies I had no means to add programs and so. I installed MS-DOS 6.22 and loaded ANSI.SYS using the CONFIG.SYS. But "mode con lines=50" just gives "function not supported". What can be the reason?

AFter a Ctrl-Alt-Del the PS/2 does not restart, something freezes.

Last: I exchanged the 8086 with a V30 but only some beeps and that's it. But the original board had problems as well: it wouldn't boot from floppy either. So the V30 can be blamed in this case.

Any ideas are welcome!

I never knew that! This is the first PS/2 I own and all those years I thought all PS/2s had VGA because of the 15-pin connector. Thank you for the info.
