Dear all!
I have an Alpha DEC3000 here running OpenVMS 7.3 AXP and I would like to upgrade my RAM. The system Board has 8 PS/2 type (72 pin) sockets and I am wondering if I need special DEC RAMs. In the System Programmer's Manual I have found some hints (like 70ns, Parity, max 32 MB, 2 RAM SIMMs of the same type) and the DEC order number "MS16-DA" but no clue on which type actually may work or if the SIMMs are a special DEC type.
Maybe someone hast experience here...

Thanks and best regards
Stephan

The 3000 model 300 variants, unlike all the other models in the family, use off-the-shelf 8MB or 32MB 72-pin SIMMs with parity. The same 32MB SIMMs I used in SGI Indigo 2's work in the 3000/300LX, for example. One SIMM part number that should work is HP D4893A.

Good luck!

Standard PS/2 SIMMS with parity just work fine, thanks a lot!
