Raon Digital Everun Dual Storage Issues

Hi,

I have a Raon Digital Everun S66HS, Which by default has built onboard 6GB SSD Plus additional 60GB via an 40Pin ZIF attached HDD. The BIOS is Award, and OS Is Windows XP, which is stored on the 6GB SSD. In this current config, BIOS Identify's 6GB as Primary Master, and the 60GB as Primary Slave.

Now Here's where I'm running into issues. I want to swap out the 60GB HDD with an Yansen 64GB SSD.

The Issue is when I install the Yansen, the BIOS auto designates the Yansen as Primary Master, ignored the internal SSD, and throws a system disk error, which is expected , cause nothing loaded on the Yansen.

I tried booting the handheld without either the 60GB HDD & 64GB SSD and in that case the BIOS auto detects/configs the internal 6GB and proceeds to boot straight to Windows.

I tried to manually config the Award BIOS, but it wouldn't let me.

I would like to utilize the faster Yansen and the built in 6GB ssd, but in my current predicament I am a bit lost. So I'm reaching out to you all for assistance. I know this is a bit newer than most of the items in question, but I don't really know where else to turn to.

Let me know. Thanks

I'm guessing it might be hardwired to always select an SSD as the boot drive, and when you attach one to the second position on the controller it is set to ignore the internal SSD and use only the SSD attached to the second position on the controller.

You might have to either try and expose some hidden features in the BIOS, or edit the BIOS manually and reflash the system if it is set to act in this way and you have no way to change it.

Thank you for your response, working with some people I know , It seems to be the case. The issue atm it seems is that the yansen would require bridging/ microsoldering to get slave select, as well as perhaps a resistor. This would be an issue for I don't have the right tools to complete the task atm. I'll probably leave the hdd in for now, while I work towards a solution
