Repair of Grundy New Brain

Hello all - New here, looking for a bit of guidance.

I've inherited a Grundy New Brain and been slowly trying to bring it back to working order.

The PSU had let the famous smoke out and after a bit of a service and a rifa replacement is working.

Then came issues with getting it to start up. that was a faulty ram chip and found by a suggestion I found in another forum of linking pin 1+6 to use bank 2 instead of bank 1.

Now I'm stuck at a "STOPPED" message on the screen and a rapid flashing cursor.

any pointers would be appreciated.

Thank you for the links, I've had a look and there is someone else mentioning the same problem but with no suggestions how to proceed.

Is this "STOPPED" on screen problem from startup something you've seen ?

STOPPED AT <line number> is a message that you would probably get when your BASIC program terminates partway through execution.

Could be another faulty ram chip or a keyboard issue?

Most interactive BASIC environments output 'READY', 'OK.', or a similar message after startup when it's okay for the user to start typing stuff in.
