About a decade ago I bought a DEC Computer Lab on Ebay. I finally got around to clean it up and o some restoration on it.
The case has some scratches and the black metal panel has several spots where the paint has fallen off.
I also wanted to see if it could be converted to 230V, which is the standard line voltage here in the Netherlands.

After opening is up, I got a little surprise, as it contains an additional board with some standard 7400 IC's on it,
and a bundle of wires going to the lamps and switches. It appears that with this extra board, the switches can directly
switch on and off a lamp using the brown toggle switches. Also, some traces have been cut open.

I'm wondering if this additions was a standard one, or it was added by the supplier or whoever was between 'S.T.I.'.
'S.T.I.'? Yes, there is an additional tag at the frontplate bearing these initials.
Can another owner of such a lab confirm that this is a standard modification or not, and if not, can he/she make some
hi-res pictures of the traces around the switches to confirm the cuts are original or part of this modification?
