Hello folks, I'm planning on selling most or all of my collection in the next couple years as I prepare to move to the south. First up, the first iMac. I will describe the condition as for parts/repair since I wasn't able to get it fully working. I installed a new pram battery and it powers on but won't boot from cd, and it needs the system software to be reinstalled. This model does not support booting from USB. The screen is turning blue which you may see in the picture. The cd rom drive bezel is broken off I just have it sitting on there for now and as is common with these machines some of the internal plastic locking tabs have broken off. Port cover is also missing. Internally there is some corrosion present. Comes with keyboard, mouse, Mac OS 10.0, 10.1 CDs and a copy of 8.1 I tried unsucessfully booting from. Asking 75$ local pick up from Shelton, CT.

I reduce the asking price on this to 40$

The computer has 128mb ram installed and is otherwise not upgraded.

FWIW, I’ll pitch in that this could be a fun DIY/re-case project for someone not interested in trying to do a full restore. The motherboard can be easily extracted and powered by an ATX power supply, and the rear panel board has a standard Mac 15 pin monitor connection and LocalTalk serial port on it. (That’s what the Infrared receiver on the front panel connects to.)

Anyway, if you have an empty compact Mac case or other interesting box lying around and want to turn it into a reasonably capable MacOS 8/9 machine this is an opportunity.
 
I have a 15 pin to VGA adapter, in case you want to build something and use a standard monitor. I also have this PowerMac 7600/132 AV available. It presents about the same condition as the iMac, (broken and brittle internal plastics, some corrosion) but it does work and boot to System 7. If anyone is interested in acquiring both machines I'll do a 75$ package deal for both.
