RK611 Backplane/Controller in BA11-k Main Chassis

Hi All,

Maybe someone can answer a hopefully simple question.

I have a RK07 and the RK611 Backplane/Controller and would like to use the RK611 in my 11/34a placed in an BA11-k.

In the RK07 manuel I have read about installation, and see only a topic, to place it in an extension box, but no hint about mounting in the main chassis.

Any hints?

By the way, I miss the Transition Box, (flat cable from Controller to round cable to the Drive), has someone one or did someone know the dec item number?

If the power connectors in the 11/34a are the same as on the RK611 backplane, it should work OK.

Hi,

I have reviewed the power connectors of the RK611, and they are exactly the same as from the installed (DD11-DK) 9 Slot Backplane.

Check the cards to see if the peripheral needs NPGrant off or on, you may need a G7273, or you may need to install the controller in the slot that has NPG off. Just a guess, but that's really the first thing that comes to mind. I have been learning a lot about all of this in the past year, I just installed a PDP 11/05 in the same chassis. I still have a lot to learn so don't soley take my word for it, anyone else?
