Folks,
Tim and I have for your consideration all the makings of a very nice two-drive RK8E / RK05 system. I can bring it to VCF East this coming Saturday, or it can be picked up in Westchester NY.
This entire lot is $800. It will need some work, but it's 40 something years old!!! No guarantees, neither Tim nor I ever got around to restoring this hardware. Please send a PM if interested. Cash please. See this album for photos. I can post more if requested: http://www.vcfed.org/forum/album.php?albumid=440
The lot includes:
* RK8E boardset (M7104/5/6) with over-the-top connector blocks (Tim seems to remember that it does not pass the diskless diagnostic, so repair is necessary)
* RK05 Unit 0 - (s/n 02-15594) - The etched glass track spacing grating has come unglued, but is present and safe. The boardset has been removed, but is bagged separately. The rear bottom cover is missing. All else is present
* RK05J Unit 1 - (s/n WF42681) - All good except missing four screws for air duct to the pack (but duct is there.) Has M930 bus terminator
* Parts RK05 (s/n 02 15721) - missing boardset, bottom covers, front panel, belt, air duct to the pack, power supply relays, chassis-traks, but the rest looks complete
* Three spare air filters (p/n 12-12175), two with the rubber duct intact
* Two spare belts (p/n 12-10812-00)
* Two spare M930 bus terminators
* One spare head positioner and head assembly
* Two good (should be) 16-sector RK05 packs
* One crashed 16-sector pack
* One 12-sector Diablo series 30 alignment (CE) pack (now that is rare!!!)
* Box of eight (although only one is needed) cables between drives (same cables as used to extend between Unibus backplanes)
Everything one needs is there except the cable from the RK8E cardset to the first drive AND the M993 module that goes in the first drive. Roland has made a PCB of this card and was going to send me one (since I mailed him some H803 blocks). Perhaps he could send that M993 to the buyer of the system. The ribbon cables are simply two 40-conductor cables with female ends.
