The original stiction problem was that the surfaces were too smooth. Van Der Waal attraction but your drive could have been lube.

Unfortunately, despite my experience with collecting and repairing these drives, I'm no chemist and so my knowledge on the subject is limited. I figured it was likely that the surface lubricant which was advertised as being on the surface had worn off in the landing zone due to many start/stop cycles over the years.
