Hello there, just scored 5 boxes of wide fanfold paper on freecycle. I wish to store it in my shed wrapped in polythene bags & just to make sure, I was considering adding a bag of silica gel.
I've been looking at silica gel sachet prices & they vary wildly, but something surprised me, Pets @ home (and Bob Martin's) do silica gel cat litter. Now the bob martin's stuff certainly looks right (clear/whitish crystals that don't degrade) & seems to work well under a cat, just wondered, has anyone used it?
At £3.90 for a 3.8 litre (??) bag it seems worth trying.

There's probably little difference, but I'd bake the stuff in your kitchen oven for a couple of hours to drive out any accumulated moisture before using it. You can also use white rice (baked) to the same effect; the only problem is that critters love it.
