Software marked as GAMES FOR WINDOWS - Do They Require Internet Connections?

Valve has claimed that if they go out of business there would be an update that would remove DRM from Steam using programs.

I would be quite leery of that statement. Can you imagine a company making the decision to go out of business (presumably because they ran out of money) and then deciding to spend the money and resources necessary to update the website and ALL the games tied to Steam?

And how long does a company maintain a website after going out of business? I doubt there is a name for a slice of time that small.

Count me skeptical.
