just saw this request on the MAME developers list. someone is looking for:

"AMD Athlon and AMD Duron Processor BIOS, Software, and Debug Developers Guide, order# 21656"

anyone have a paper copy, or know if it's on line somewhere?
 
Mame emulates PCs

That's right, they merged with MESS a few years ago. Does their PC emulation work well ? I remember checking out their Atari 800 emulation and it wasn't very good.

I can't imagine wanting to emulate an Athlon PC (circa 1999) when that software can be generally run directly on a modern PC. Generally people want to emulate classic stuff from the 1980s.
 
This brings up an interesting concern: have you managed to archive the various CPU and chipset docs from Intel and AMD over the years ? I know Intel used to have all of their stuff on their website. Of course they might have removed the older stuff over the years.
 
I have some of it, but not all.
Apparently, this document wasn't generally released.
