Soon to be added to the collection: A vintage-modern hybrid

It's done! A single physical machine that can run everything from DOS all the way through modern Windows, with full function for each operating system. I am fully loaded with DOS, Windows 3.11, and Windows 7 so far with more to add in between. The goal was to build a multi-boot wonder, one that didn’t need to swap out hardware components between booting-up each OS. Ostensibly a first?

Now Mike thats an impressive achievement.

Well done.

Tanks David. Now that I've gotten up to Win7 working I am now trying to get Win10 to install. Win10 has some different CPU requirements, specifically it requires a CPU with an Execution Disable bit (XD). Most processors from that era don't have it, but a few did. The trick is to find one that is Socket 478 compatible. I found one - an SL8U4 Intel Pentium 4 Processor 511 CPU. It would be a slight downgrade from the Prescott 3.4GHz Extreme CPU, but I think the SL8U4 it is the only Socket 478 compatible CPU that has it that might do it. I just ordered one off of eBay for $5 bucks, fingers crossed it works.

Regards,
Mike
