I have a tandy 1000 SL and i was wanting to replace the floppy with a 1.4 Mb floppy. I connected a 1.4MB floppy to the computer, and i turned it on. It didn't even turned on. What can i do to make it work?

Nothing now, you've probably fried it already. The T1K uses a weird arrangement in which the first drive gets it's power thru the ribbon cable. Hooking-up a normal drive usually kills the drive by applying voltage where it doesn't belong. You'll have to install the drive as a second drive (note the holes punched in the ribbon cable).

Anyways, even if you do install a 1.44 drive, it'll only work as a 720Kb.
