Does anyone know a source of batteries for the Tandy 1400LT. I know that amazon has the JST SM connectors so that isn't a problem. I have found the two following:

http://www.batteryspace.com/NiCd-Battery-Pack-12.0V-2200mAh-10xSc-for-Solar-Panel-/-Emergency.aspx (Is correct capacity but size seems a bit small)

http://www.batteryspace.com/nicdbatterypack12v3ahcx10forsolarpanelemergencylighting.aspx(Supposedly correct cell size but size seems a big big)

Are those compatible or at least able to work? I'll be able to 3D Print a size adapter if necessary.

I did. https://www.batteryspace.com/nicdbatterypack12v3ahcx10forsolarpanelemergencylighting.aspx
Works good! I replaced both connectors and part of the cable for PSU as well. Mine was corroded.
The only thing is charger inside Tandy is not charging enough in my experience. I bought from them universal charger to experiment and it looks like Universal charger is charging battery very well! The problem is I can't find ANY INFORMATION on how long do I need to charge Tandy 1400LT!
Any advice?

I have the -FD version; the PSU/charger is the worst bit of the machine. I continually get blown fuse (which is soldered) with replacement batteries. I've been using RC-model batteries though so maybe their internal resistance is just too low. I made up a simple adapter to standard Tamiya connector to enable the use of off-the-shelf batteries, though the one I have has lasted a decade so far.
