Tough times for Technology/Computer Museums

For what it is worth, https://www.themade.org/ seems active. It's different in that they encourage people to interact with the systems there. Yeah, maybe not directly "computing" hardware, but from what I have seen, people that go there are engaged, and seems to attract the 20-30 age range.

And I, too, am very indebted to Al. Thank you very much for all of the work you have done!

My first post. An old newbe who worked as a field engineer for Univac from 1969-1980. This photo was taken circa 1978 by me. I remember turning all nine knobs to get maximum color for the photo. After this mainframe diagnotics came in the form of boring binary files. This was in Newark, NJ at client PSE&G. I miss those days caused nothing worked and you got paid time and a half. There were no cell phones or even pagers yet. Very difficult for field office dispatchers to get hold of you. I drove by this building about a year ago and imagined what might be inside. I did not dare bust my bubble by finding out. I miss the endingless training on logic diagrams. When I was discharged from the military in 1969 there were 50989665476_e8109436d8_UNIVAC_1110.jpgendless list of field engineer jobs from an endless amount of companies. The classified ads were full of these requests. I think I chose wisely.
