Hi Forum,

I have buyed an RK07 drive an need to transport them in the next days in my Van.

I have checked the RK Manuals, but have not found any hint in relation to the transportation, except unpacking and checking.

RL0x Drives have a transportation lock to secure the Head so I would also think the RK must have some type of transport lock.

Someone here who can help, and advise?

Best regards
Ulrich

I took a quick look at the RK06/07 User Manual and did not see anything about a shipping lock like on the RL drives. Looks almost like the same head assembly in the RK only doubled, nothing like the monster assembly in the RK05.
I did see that the drive and its associated rack weigh in at around over three hundred pounds. What are you planning on using it with?

Hi,

I plan to use it with my 11/34. The needed RK611 is with some luck also in the bunch of stuff I have buyed.

I#m not familar with pounds, but it wights about 150kg.

Main question would be if it is possible to transport it laying flat on the back. It should find also standing soace in my Van, but the transportation and loading would be much easier.

Many Greetings
Ulrich

Oh wow, the RK07. I still have a RK07 pack and an RK611 controller around here somewhere; did they use the same cables as the RL01/02's?

On the back would be the best bet, but if they are anything like RM02's there should be a head lock pin inside the unit on top of the head carriage. Or they could have a screw in the back that would hold the heads in place.

I just had to move my RM02's for cleaning and put the pins in before moving.

And another nice Card found in the bunch of stuff: EMULEX SC21-BM (SC2110201-bm)

I need to split the RK07 from the Rack, to get both in my Computer room which is in the basement, as both are too heavy.
