I just picked up a TRS-80 III for free.

But it didn't come with any disks.

I figured out how to boot it into Basic.

My problem is this: Is there any way to test out the disk drives with Basic?

Thanks in advance.

If you can find a copy of Hypersoft's PC Crosszap (PCXZ) and an emulator called PC3 you can migrate disk images from an IBM system (with 5 1/4 drive) to the Model III. You can format boot disks on an IBM, and then port them over to the Model III.

this link at one time had a link to download:

Ultimately you need a boot disk. TRS DOS 1.3 is about the oldest. New DOS 8 is one of the newest.

Hyperzap 3.2 is a good program to have handy because it has a program that makes disk copies.
