"TXPLUS" tape backup software?

Hi all,
I'm recovering data from some old QIC tape cartridges for an acquaintance, which I do by dumping the binary tape image in Linux, then extracting the actual files from the image using some scripts that support several known backup formats.

However, these tapes seem to be using a format I've never seen before. Based on the metadata on the tape, as well as the file catalog that I managed to decode, the backup software was called "TXPLUS". It seems nowhere to be found on the web, except for one InfoWorld magazine clipping from 1993.

Has anyone heard of this software, and if so, can you possibly share it?

Ideally, all I would need is the compression algorithm that this software used to compress the files, since the compression scheme also seems to be unrecognizable, and annoyingly proprietary.
