1st this is a hack job.

2nd it's really simple.

3rd I know I misspelled bezel in the photos

To keep the vintage look when installing a modernish HD into an old 5150 or 5160 use the original HD bezzel.

The photos below show my solution.

Hope that helps someone.
This is currently not installed as I got another MFM drive for the system.

It looks as if you've gone a bit overboard. If this were my machine, I'd just use a stock 5.25-to-3.5 adapter bracket and then velcro the FH faceplate to the front of the unit, adding a wood block if necessary to hold the velcro strips. Shouldn't take more than 15 mintues.

(FWIW, there were several makes of FH HDs that used vecro-type fasteners for their faceplates. So completely contemporaneous)

I did similar to my XT 286 a long time back, I removed the knackered ST225 from the frame and secured a flat plate on top of the frame, Secured a CF adapter to the plate using plastic standoffs with the sticky tape on the bottom and wired the LED up on the original front panel, Works a treat and keeps it sorta original looking.
