The Vintage Computer Festival Switzerland is entering its next phase with #VCFSO26.

The VCF-CH is opening its doors for the twelfth time overall and for the second time at Enter Technikwelt in Solothurn on

7th and 8th November 2026

"The fair with the mouse
and other input devices"


Keyboards, mice, joysticks, trackballs, light pens, graphics tablets, touchpads, touchscreens and VR controllers: input devices are the interface between humans and computers. They translate our movements, gestures and commands into digital information and have a decisive influence on how we experience and operate computers.

From long-forgotten experiments to devices that still shape our everyday lives today, the exhibition showcases the astonishing diversity of human–computer interaction. Discover rare exhibits, try out different input devices for yourself and experience just how many different ways there are to operate a computer. As usual, the theme is complemented by numerous other exhibits and talks from the world of vintage computing. Various workshops invite you to try your hand at electronics and soldering.

Glad to see this event is returning, I hadn't seen anything and was getting worried.

So is it called VCF Switzerland, VCF Derendigen, or VCF Solothurn? Seems like it went by all 3 names last year. Also, is the shortened version VCFCH or VCFSO? I know, this is not a big deal all things considered, but it makes it harder to find and archive for the future when there are multiple names for the same thing.

And to be clear, this isn't the same event as VCF Zurich, yes?

Hey, sorry for the confusion. It's more or less the same group of people involved in the organisation of the Zürich event (and last year's event at ENTER). VCFCH would be VCF Switzerland but because we also like our federalism (Kantönligeist as we call it) we put the canton (SO for canton Solothurn) as well. But Solothurn is also the name of the canton's capital municipality, whereas the event is technically located in Derendingen (at the ENTER museum https://enter.ch/en/)
