As the title suggests. If it "can" run or even has a version of DOS (MS-DOS; DR-DOS and so on) in its ROM then i might be interested in it. I already have a HP 100LX, a Poqet, Atari Portfolio and a German Highscreen handy Organizer, but generally I am interested in expanding my collection if i can. So if you have anything to offer then please let me know.

I have a pile of DI-550 data collector computers.

These are based on the Chips PC/Chip F8680 8086 processor with Microsoft DOS in ROM. The F8680 supports a CGA monitor, implemented here with an LCD grey level screen. Restricted keyboard, no floppy, no parallel port but have wondered if they could be picked up and used.

The couple I have powered up have worked ok, they are programmed to interface to a vibration monitor probe for aircraft engines so do data logging. There is a PCMCIA memory slot for a card. Also a serial port. They are powered from a special battery pack, with several chips in it, but will also run from power supplied to a barrel connector.

Came as a job lot so quite a few, any one interested at 10GBP each plus postage? Weigh 2kg unpacked, or 1600g without the battery pack.

A bit heavy for a palmtop. I like the F8680 chip, i have a lexicomp Gradebook 2000 that came with that chip. However these data collector thingies look hard to use, i mean MS-DOS in ROM is pretty cool along with CGA. Good enough for King's Quest on the go. The question that nags me here is how you do anything with them, i mean they don't seem to have a real keyboard, so have you ever managed to run anything but that vibration monitor on them? Can you connect a different keyboard to it or so?

They are very specialised. I haven't found any way to get access to the keyboard, floppy etc other than soldering wires the 8680 pins, not good. I haven't managed to do anything with them, other than the loaded application.

Well I am not so keen on measuring vibration i must admit. And even if i could temper with them enough to get a keyboard connected i find them a bit too heavy. But thanks for the offer.
