Y-E Data YD-380 1.2MB 5¼" Floppy Drive, Y-E Data YD-380B 1.2MB 5¼" Floppy Drive

Y-E Data YD-380 1.2MB 5¼" Floppy Drive

Beige floppy, sold as is, for parts or repair.

Also, a Y-E Data YD-380B 1.2MB 5¼" Floppy Drive

Black floppy, sold as is, for parts or repair.

Best offer for either or both.

do you know for sure they don't work properly, or just selling as-is because they are untested?

They don't work for me. I've tried them in my 233 tweener where I run TEAC 1.2M and 360K drives without any problem. But I'm not sure that these really old drives don't need a 286 or something of that era to run properly. I think they are both in need of some repair.

Do the drives get a light when they are plugged in? To me, that spells capacitor issues or cold/cracked solder joints.

Scratch that question.
