Found an IBM PC clone during Neighborhood Cleanup about 2 years ago,. Don't know anything about it, other than it looks almost exactly like the original IBM PC, & has a label on the front of it that says "Octave Systems". Can anyone give me some info on this machine?

It's just a clone. There was plenty of machines like that.
They used IBM's case, looking like IBM monitor, 2 half height drives and 20 Meg harddrive (also half height).
You tried to turn it on? Do you have proper monitor?

If you don't know, make an effort to try to find out. You need to look at the model number on the drive, search the Internet, and do some reading.

Ask if you can't figure it out after you've made an effort ..

Your drivers are full-height or half-height?
Try these disks and you will find out.
I guess that FDD is DD, because even clones haven't HD drives often.

So you tried running them from HD DOS disks?
If your FDDs are perfectly calibrated they should read 360kB disk written in HD drive.

Please stop the discussion until the original poster opens the machine and looks at the drives in question. There really is no need to keep going on about whether the drives are double density or high density if the answer is as easy as getting the model number and doing a search.
