on september 11, 2007 i was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, aka bone cancer. during one of my chemo treatments i was given an old ctx ezbook laptop, circa 1997. it runs windows 98, has 32mb of ram, 2gig HDD, and an old AMD k6 processer. i discovered that it will only read cd's that i did not burn myself. i put in a music cd its fine, but when i put a burned cd in it will not recognize it. my older windows 95 machine that i came here to get help with awhile ago reads both types fine. any ideas?

Sorry about your cancer troubles.

I have an EZbook that i can test to see if it recognises burned CDs. It has windows 98 installed.

If your still trying to get some answers with your cdrom please post here and i will pull the laptop out and give it a try.

Sorry to hear about the cancer trouble wish you all well!

Some older CD-ROM drives just don’t like burned CD’s! When you burn your CD’s make sure it’s ISO-9600, disk at once, closed and a slower burn speed! Orther then that try a diffrent wirter or a diffrent drive in the laptop!
