There is a rather strange request, but here goes.

Has anyone seen for sale or made a ribbon cable that will attach to a 8-bit ISA card then the other end go into a 8-bit ISA Slot.

I have an 8-bit ISA Slot which is hammpered by other parts, I cannot plug a card into it, but if a had a cable that could plug into it - then the other end of the cable connect to the card which could be velcro stuck someplace inside the case, I wouldn't loose this slot.

Thanks!

That's a damned good question, and often wondered the same for PCI slots. I know there's an L shaped adapter for PCI cards, they were used in the PowerMac 5500's I believe.

I suppose one could make such cable. I don't see how it would be that hard. Don't they sell card edge connectors that could go into the ISA slot, and say, butcher a couple floppy 5.25" edge connectors from a ribbon, and wire it up?

That's what I'd do..

Hi!
You are probably looking for these:

http://www.vikcon.com/images/pluggemcatalog.pdf

part number PF31-2852-X (31 pin male card edge connector to IDC) and part number RF31-2852-X (31 pin female card edge connector to IDC)

You can probably get some 62 pin ribbon cable and just splice these together as needed.

Thanks and have a nice day!
