Greetings all,

Does anyone have a boot floppy for the old Lobo MAX-80? I just acquired a MAX-80 and all my best efforts to build an LDOS 5.3.1 boot disk have failed. Naturally, I received no documents with this, so I can not be certain about what I am doing.

I downloaded the LDOS MAX-80 disk image from Tim Mann's web site. Using the emulator I built a basic disk and used SOLE1/2 to create a double density boot floppy. The disk image was DS/DD but my assumption was it needed to be in true Model I format to boot.

It beeps, then seeks on the floppy and then nothing. No beeps, no display, nada!?!?

Any and all suggestions welcome. I am use to Model I/III/4 issues, but this is all new to me.

TIA,

A. J.

OK,

Thanks to Tim Mann for all the help. The Lobo MAX-80 image on his web site did the trick. That is provided that you create the "real" floppy as an exact "block copy". I had tried making backups and that did not work. Good ol'e LS-DOS "diskcopy" did the trick.
