[Official Support Thread]

I figured I should start a proper support thread for CHORDiUM for DOS instead of letting it hijack any other forum thread (like the one in programming). ;)

CHORDiUM for DOS is a polyphonic, sample-based music program that converts your computer keyboard into a musical instrument. Unlike most DOS-based real-time instrument programs, CHORDiUM for DOS allows multiple notes to play at the same time, letting users form chords and better sounding music.

Yes the good news is PatchCRT worked, the bad news is it still won't work on my computer cause of the way it's setup! :( Only made for the really Basic DOS apps. Will have to dig out my other Pentium and try on that, but now at least it appears to have resolved the runtime error.

Did you try downloading the latest build and run it without PatchCRT? I'm keen to know if patching my TURBO.TPL library works without forcing users to use things like PatchCRT.

Got a nice breakthrough after searching all sorts of old archives and hammering thru readme files and source codes...

Managed to improve the sample-based playback so that it doesn't stutter and sound choppy on my iPad with the latest DOSPad beta. If all goes well, it could also mean higher quality sampling with less memory taken up, and doubling the polyphony (from 8 simultaneous notes to 16). Hoping for the best!

In the meantime, here's a SNDCHECK program that anyone can try. It includes a two-octave keyboard with a bell-like tone.
