OpenGem and CGA

Trying to run OpenGEM 5 on a CGA only 286 today resulted in the familiar flashing cursor and no video display that is from my experience caused by trying to run an EGA or VGA program.

Is CGA not supported by OpenGEM, and if not what versions of GEM support it?

The video driver (in \GEMAPPS\GEMSYS) should be SDCGA8.CGA rather than SDPSC9.VGA. It should be possible to select this by running SETUP.BAT; if not, manually delete \GEMAPPS\GEMSYS\SDPSC9.VGA and copy in \GEMAPPS\GEMSYS\SETUP\VIDEO\SDCGA8.CGA instead.

(You can get a more recent CGA driver from my FreeGEM drivers page -- download pack 2 and extract SDCGA9.CGA and GEM.CPI).

Now running OpenGEM 6 in EGA mode, I had to do the file swap because the setup.bat wouldn't work X)
