Newbie Apple IIe questions

How does one log onto or get a catalog of the 2nd drive? Also how does one copy from drive to drive. I can't seem to find answer.
Also how does one prevent ProDOS from going straight to BASIC?

CATALOG,D2
You can go back to the first drive with:
CATALOG,D1
Whichever drive was addressed last is the one you're 'logged onto.'

Also how does one copy from drive to drive.

You... don't, unless you have some form of copy program. If you have a BASIC program, you can LOAD PROGRAM,D1 and SAVE PROGRAM,D2 - but that will only work for BASIC. Copying files larger than memory or whole disks requires a copy program (Copy II+, COPYA, etc.)

Also how does one prevent ProDOS from going straight to BASIC?

What would you rather have it do? If you replace BASIC.SYSTEM with some other *.SYSTEM program, you could start that instead.
