Atari 400 custom keyboard...

lol, well ok. Was that just adding regular key caps to the current chiclet membrane? Curious about more details of where your keys came from and if it was a key by key mod or a replacement keyboard with some sort of circuit emulation?

I guess it was cheaper than the Atari branded replacement keyboard?

Never on a 400, but I've done it on TRS-80 Color Computers, Sinclair ZX-80, TS1K's and Spectrums, and at one point even had a TRS-80 Model 4P keyboard wired to run a Cyzern System 7000.

At one point I got three TI 99/4A keyboards out of a electronics grab-bag; they ended up being rewired onto just about every chiclet or membrane keyboarded system I had.

Not as hard to do, but my Rev. NC mainboard Coco 1 has a full travel Coco 2 keyboard on it.

Though that's a simple 1:1 replacement.

Seems like an interesting project to undertake, never done anything like this myself. Have just some minor button swapping on controllers.

That is the ugliest 400 keyboard conversion I have ever seen. I have two with this keyboard
