VCF-GB 2013 at TNMOC Bletchley Park

Announced here:

http://www.vcf-gb.org.uk/

No date yet, hope its as good as VCF-GB 2010!

Regards,
John

Interesting one this. It would appear that the person who organised VCF-GB 2010 has left.

Most of the original team who organised the 2010 event seem to be working on another project:

www.vintagecomputerfestival.org.uk

That one was announced first, and both within weeks of each other. Seems like Bletchley Park are retaliating.

Lets hope they can kiss and make up, or is this handbags at twenty paces??? I guess two events has to be better than none though :)

BTW I see www.vintagecomputerfestival.org.uk refer to VCF GB 2.0. I think the reference to VCF @ www.vintage.org looks a little cheeky, as I understand the later never actually endorsed the past UK event. Who were the team behind VCF-GB 2010, they did a great job in organising the last one, I'm sure there were some bumps in the road then, like a lot of things people can get very worked up and sides can be taken.

Where did you hear about this from please, I read about VCF-GB 2013 on the CCS news page: http://www.computerconservationsociety.org/news.htm

Regards,
John
PS I am a member of the CCS, their events are free and open to all interested in computer history - which I guess is most people who read the VCforums.

I heard about it through word of mouth. I think the last GB event was endorsed but little or no input was made by the VCF guys in the US. As I understand, VCF-GB 2010 was put together by Simon Hewitt who also organised the BBC Micro 30th anniversary event earlier this year.

If there are two events, I hope that doesn't mean that both have half as much going on. There is an e-mail address on www.vintagecomputerfestival.org.uk though, so it might be worth making an enquiry.
