It’s crunch time for the Commodore Vegas Expo! Presentations are being prepared; equipment is being gathered; travel plans are being made… all for our July 27-28 show which will be held at Ballroom 8, the third floor, in the Plaza Hotel & Casino, 1 Main Street, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

You’re all invited to CommVEx! Join us and mingle with those from the Fresno Commodore User Group, the Clark County Commodore Computer Club (of Las Vegas), the Southern California Commodore & Amiga Network, the Portland Commodore User Group, and the Puget Sound Commodore User Group. Join us and meet users from the West Coast, from the East Coast, and from other nations. Join us and enjoy the hours and hours of Commodore and Amiga talks, programming, and gaming. Join us and get to use Commodore PET, VIC-20, C64, Plus/4, C128, and Amiga computers. All Commodore… all Amiga… all the time!

ALERT! CommVEx 2013 moving to Jockey Room 1 in the Plaza Hotel!

ALERT! CommVEx 2013 moving to Jockey Room 1 in the Plaza Hotel!

Today, another new Plaza Hotel contact, Kelly, informed me that due to technical issues it would be best that we change from Ballroom 8 to Jockey Room 1. I agreed, even though it is only 9 days to CommVEx. Jockey Room 1, a room that we have used in past CommVExes, is located at the bottom of the ramp to the third floor garage. Advantages of Jockey Room 1 -- easier to move hardware into the room due to its proximity to the garage and more visibility for passers-by to see the room. Disadvantage of Jockey Room 1 - a smaller room in comparison to Ballroom 8 or last year's Left Field Room at the sister hotel.

That being said, everything is still go for CommVEx. New for this year -- not one but two AmigaOne X1000s will be on exhibit. Also Retrogaming Radio will be hanging around and may broadcast from the show (if our wi-fi signal is strong enough).

The updates continue to come, and so, watch the website below or the forum at http://www.commodore.ca/forum/viewforum.php?f=6 for the latest information

Out of curiosity is it always during the same time as KansasFest? Am I sensing some Apple vs Commodore tension still? ;-)

Actually, I don't pay any attention to KansasFest (because Commodore is not there). Ever since the first CommVEx, our show has always been on either the third weekend or fourth weekend of July. To be more specific, CommVEx has to come after the July FCUG meeting and before the Creation Star Trek Convention in August. ;)
