I am restoring two Kaypro II and have discovered they have different main boards.
One matches the schematics in any of the Kaypro Technical manuals I can find online. It has a WD1793 floppy disk controller.
The other has a WD1791 FDC and a number of additional 74xx parts around the board...

I am trying to bring up a KXT-11AB (M7676) SBC-11/21 but the board I have been given contains custom firmware and I don't have the ODT ROM set.
Does anyone know a source for the KXT11-A5 MACRO-ODT ROM set or have a dump of this?
The DEC Part numbers are 23-409E-00 and 23-410E-00.

It has taken a while but I finally got the PCB completed and tested for the Model 1 Expansion Interface for FreHD. This board upgrades a stock 16K Level II Model 1 to 48K and adds support for FreHD autoboot.
A write up along with design files are available at http://www.quicktrip.co.nz/jaqblog...
I have a PDP11/84 that has been sitting in the workshop waiting attention. I am now at the point where I can do that. Are there any recommendations regarding first power up. I have no idea when it was last run. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 10 years. The machine is complete with all the...
If you are using /84 machines then Frank's adaptor design is a great way to use the TRS-80 FreHD.
If you are using a 4/83 (and hopefully the 2/83 - Tez - Phil Avery is going to lend me his for testing) the approach that requires least modification to the machine is a piggy back adaptor board...
Does anyone have any experience with the Advent TurboROM on a Kaypro 4/83 (not 4/84)?
The 4/83 has a 2732 EPROM (4K) as standard so only half the size of the 4/84. The ROM files I have been for the TurboROM are 8K.
I can modify the machine to accept an 8K EPROM but before I go down that track...
I have been given a blank PCB from a kit produced by an Australian electronics hobbiest magazine called Electronics Today International. The kit, an ETI-636 is an S100 board. I don't have any S-100 machines or parts but am keen to build it up and get a small machine running.
Can anyone...
