Looking for a 386SX pizza box I once owned - sound familiar to anyone?

Hi Chuck, We did have a number of locally badged PCs here in the TC Metro area, names like Northstar and others, but I don't recall coming across anything under the Stearns name. Do you know which models they sold?

Looking for a 386SX pizza box I once owned - sound familiar to anyone?

Sure, I collected vintage computers for years. At one point, there were over 75 machines in my collection, so I get the appeal. But I never saw much interest in this common "commodity" x86 PC hardware. I collected mostly pre-IBM home computer gear, CP/M systems, some Mac models and a few early &...

Looking for a 386SX pizza box I once owned - sound familiar to anyone?

How could old 386SX systems be worth anything today? Where's the value - just for playing DOS games? I must have chucked a dozen or more of those things, never did I dream they'd hold any sort of interest. I remember having Slackware 7 installed on my SX20 pizzabox. It was too feeble to run X...

Looking for a 386SX pizza box I once owned - sound familiar to anyone?

I once had a 386SX pizza box machine. It was the usual beige color, but it had square bright blue feet on the case bottom corners. One of the buttons (power, drive eject) may also have been this same blue color. Very unusual color accents for your average beige box. Anyone know who might have...

    VIC-20 Name that Game

No. It's nothing as common as Jupiter Lander, nor is there a "gravity" or other physics element in the gameplay. And it came on cassette..

    VIC-20 Name that Game

Nah, it's a navigate-the-maze game.. fairly static, a test of nerve kind of thing. And it was almost certainly on cassette, as I never had a 1540/1 with my VIC.

    VIC-20 Name that Game

Hey folks, Trying to recall the name of a game, from my earliest times as a VIC owner. This would have been ca. 1982.. It was a maze game, you could say, where you piloted a ship around the screen, avoiding walls & obstacles, scoring points (I believe..) and attempting to clear the screen...

    Re-purposing a Dell laptop PSU - Question

@DeltaDon Thanks for finding that, though it's a typically info-poor YT video. Really, all points of interest could have been covered in about 20-30 seconds - and he never bothers to tell us WHICH WIRE IS WHICH, though this seems to be critically important. From the first schematic, it seems...

    Re-purposing a Dell laptop PSU - Question

That's what I was thinking, FWIW. But no t knowing what it expects is bugging me. So do I just ignore the 'extra' conductor, or tie it to +/-?

    Re-purposing a Dell laptop PSU - Question

Btw, I believe the original plug had a 3 conductor design: Outer cylinder, inner cylinder and center pin. So it seems all 3 conductors were being brought into the laptop case
