Bored this afternoon, raining, nothing on tv so I watched the MTV 2006 Movie Awards. There was an idiot "stand up comic" on and I was just about to turn off the tv when he announced the music act. Never heard of Gnarls Barkley so I watched a little more.
There they were on stage, in Star Wars costumes. Darth Vader lead singer. Rebel pilots backup singers. Imperial Stormtroopers on guitars. Imperial officers on strings. Jango Fett and a Jedi knight on keyboards. Chewbacca on drums.
Then Darth Vader (actually CeeLo) started to sing. Wow! Great song. Has that old school soul sound and feel.
Immediately got on the web and discovered that it's actually a collaboration of 2 solo acts and that they perform in different costumes all the time. I need to hear more!
