DOS lives on!!

I recently got an old Apple Scribe Printer. It almost looks brand new! Although, when I turn it on, it starts up correctly, but the light beside the select button keeps blinking. Anyone know how to fix this, or is this a real problem. Or is it something normal? Does this stop it from printing?
